COVID-19 Response

Our response and commitments during the Pandemic

UPDATED ON 09/04/2020:

Our Commitment to our Employees, Customers and Partners During the Pandemic

As we continue to navigate these uncertain times, we want to offer reassurance in our commitment to our employees, customers and supply partners that we are doing everything we can to protect the safety and wellbeing of our team and provide continuity of supply to our customers during this critical time.

We are pleased to announce that we have developed a new lightweight disposable face shield. As part of our commitment to protecting our healthcare workers and helping to slow the spread of infection, we have pledged to donate over 1000 face shields each week.

Having been through rigorous testing and manufactured to CE standards, BS EN166, we will be manufacturing the face shield at our Leamington Spa facility from 13th April using UK sourced materials from our robust supply chain within the healthcare sector.

Increased Production Capacity & Safety Standards

We are now running a 24-hour shift pattern, with a substantially larger production team, to manufacture 350,000 face visors per week. Our capacity will increase to 500,000 per week by the end of the month with a new automated system.

As the number of employees on-site has increased, so has our stringent hygiene and health precautions:

  • Daily testing of temperature for all employees on site
  • Full PPE provided to every employee on site
  • Correctly spaced workstations inline with Health England instructions
  • Carefully managed shifts to minimise contact
  • Intensified daily sanitation and cleaning of the facility

The safety and wellbeing of our employees remain paramount and we will continue to review our health and safety procedures on a regular basis.

Investment in our New Healthcare Brand

We are dedicated to becoming a global centre of excellence in the ongoing development and manufacture of face and eye protection under our new brand, Tecman Advanced Healthcare Products

We are committed to the long-term investment in our new healthcare brand which includes a large investment in automation for packing and placement, investment in testing and materials, and in the long-term restructuring of our production and operations team.

We wish you and your family well and we remain committed to helping in any way we can.

Best wishes,

Our Commitment to our Employees, Customers and Partners During the Pandemic

As we continue to navigate these uncertain times, we want to offer reassurance in our commitment to our employees, customers and supply partners that we are doing everything we can to protect the safety and wellbeing of our team and provide continuity of supply to our customers during this critical time.

The Safety and Job Security of our Employees is Priority

The safety and wellbeing of our employees during this pandemic is paramount and where possible, our staff are working safely from home. Where this is not possible for our production team, we have introduced additional measures to increase hygiene and safety standards:

  • Daily sanitisation of our manufacturing facility
  • Increased number of hygiene stations throughout the premises
  • Closely following official guidance regarding hygiene and distancing measures
  • Supporting staff during isolation or working from home arrangements
  • Increased company sick pay policy to ensure everyone is supported
  • Accommodating special requirements for childcare.

We will continue to assess the situation in line with official Public Health England guidelines and take every possible measure to safeguard the health of our staff.

Critical Infrastructure Customers

During the pandemic we are prioritising orders for customers within the critical infrastructure sector to ensure continuity of supply to the most critical industries. Our Supply Chain Management Team are always in close communication with our supply partners and we are confident in our ability to continue to support our customers during this this time.

Operations and Manufacturing

Our facility remains open five days per week and our business hours are unchanged, however, we are currently working at a reduced capacity, with the ability to increase production as demand increases in the future.

Our manufacturing and dispatch are on schedule and we continue to support our employees, customers, and partners in every way we can and will continue to provide regular communications as the situation develops.
